we are raising our prices for new customers and making rooms more useful when you share controller links. And, as we are nearing the end of the year and I feel in a Christmas mood, I'm sharing a few of our stats at the end 😇

Licensed and unlicensed rooms

If you like to share the controller link with others, then you'll love this change! Essentially, as long as you, the owner of a room, have a pro subscription, everyone with the link can use the timer with all its features. You don't have to share your login credentials anymore 😄

When a room is licensed, then the Stagetimer logo and the "UNLICENSED" tag are automatically removed.

Some functions, like customizing the background and logo or generating an API key are limited to the room owner. So if you share the controller link others can't cause havoc. A room is licensed if the room owner has a paid subscription.

New pricing

This update adds a $10 "Event" package that is a one-off purchase granting you pro status for 10 days. This is meant specifically for people who only do events every now and then and just need a Stagetimer license for a single event.

In addition, prices for the pro subscription will increase on December 12, 2021.

• Pro Monthly $9.90/mo ➡ $15/mo
• Pro Yearly $8.25/mo ➡ $12/mo

This increase will not affect existing customers. So if you purchase a pro subscription until December 12 you're locked into the old price.

How we are doing

We increased the pricing because we believe that our free version provides a lot of value already and we want to build a sustainable tool. So I thought it might be nice to share with you some of our stats:

• ⏳ 1,500 rooms (containing 2,800 timers and 1,800 messages)
• 👀 9,900 unique visits (last 30 days)
• 🚀 1,100 active users (last 30 days)
• 🌍 from 96 countries
• 🔑 370 registered users
• 💳 75 customer
• 💰 €639 MRR (monthly recurring revenue)

Stagetimer is now a year old and outperformed all of my expectations. I really enjoyed working on it and have many more features planned for 2022. Hey there,

Stagetimer has a public API now. With it, you can remote control your timer with other software, for example, the Streamdeck with Bitfocus Companion. I'm gonna work on a detailed guide for the Companion in the future.

How to use the new API

You can access the API through a popup at the top of the controller page. It is required to generate an API key to authenticate with the API. The API is only available for pro users.

Select time format (24-hours, 12-hours, auto)

The last update introduced different time formats. It chooses the time format automatically based on your country and language. In fact, if you share the link with someone from another country they see it in their local time format.

Now there is an explicit setting to define the time format for everyone if you like to do so.

The last update also introduced the option to show a timer title to speakers. Not there is another field called "Extra" which you can use to show speaker names or other extra information to the speaker.

From your dashboard, it is now possible to duplicate a room with all customizations, timers, and messages.

This was by far the most requested feature and took me almost the entire October to implement completely. I'm not entirely happy with the interface, but I focused first of all on making it work reliably. Still, I did tweak the interface quite a bit to make it easy to use, hopefully. 😄

Schedule timers to start automatically at a given date and time

You can change the trigger of a timer to "Scheduled" and define a date and time at which the timer will start automatically. The trigger is scheduled on the server. So the timer will start even if you close the controller window in your browser.

Event Rundown: Link, reorder and collapse timers

Even though Stagetimer is not as fully featured as Shoflo, the ability to link timers together and collapse them in the interface makes it possible to set up a simple event rundown. A linked timer will automatically start when the previous one is finished, no matter if it was started manually or via a schedule.

If you have a lot of timers set up in your timeline collapsing them may help you to keep a good overview. Additionally, you can easily reorder timers with the = icon.

“Until” mode: Instead of a duration define a finish time

The "Until" trigger replaces the usual duration input with a date and time input. The moment you click the "Start" button it will automatically calculate the duration to finish at your given time.

It was always possible to change the default "Timer 1" name, but it did not have any special purpose. Until now! With the new "Show name" checkbox it is now actually visible in the viewer window and can be used to communicate meaning.

12h and 24h format

You probably can tell I'm European judging by the 24h format I used everywhere in Stagetimer. Not anymore! I'm still European, but Stagetimer now uses the time format of your browser. This means if your browser has a US language setting the time will be in the 12h format. In the future I'm going to make this a setting, so you can choose your preferred time format.
